The DTI HQ Audit for 2003 was concluded in April 2003. It included those staff below the Senior Civil Service in the DTI HQ bargaining unit in the London and National area. It did not include the DTI Agencies which conducted their own audits (see links to their websites below).
The Audit examined in detail the gender split within the Department, both overall and within ranges, looking at the distribution of base pay for men and women within each range, average length of service at the range, performance marks, annual pay awards and performance bonuses, starting salaries, and comparison of career progression. It also considered the base pay position for part-time staff and specialists. Further analysis of access to overtime and standby allowances, special bonuses, accelerated career development and training was also undertaken.
As an outcome of the Review, DTI put in place an action plan to address any concerns.
