Consultation on Consumer Credit Act draft Statutory Instruments covering exemptions, post-contract information and licensing

Starting Date: 02-08-06

Closing Date: 24-11-06

This consultation seeks views on draft Statutory Instruments (SIs) - under the Consumer Credit Act 2006.  which deal with:

• exemptions from the provisions of the Act for lending to very wealthy - ‘high net worth’ – borrowers and to businesses; and

• the form and content of statements and notices that lenders will have to provide to their customers, as well as the maximum duration of limited licences and the period within which periodic fees for indefinite licences must be paid.

Both SIs are due to be finalised by April 2007 and come into force from April 2008.  The consultation document includes copies of the draft SIs, as well as a partial Regulatory Impact Assessment.
