Proposals for the application of the Companies Act 2006 to Limited Liability Partnerships

In February 2007 the Government consulted on the implementation of the Companies Act 2006 (2006 Act). In the consultation document the Government asked for views on the broad approach to applying the 2006 Act to Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs). This consultation seeks views on the Governments proposals for the application of the 2006 Act to LLPs.
The consultation on application of the Companies Act 2006 (2006 Act) to Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) closed on the 6 February. We are considering the responses to the consultation and plan to publish the Government response during April. Alongside the response we will publish for comment the draft regulations applying the accounts and audit provisions of the 2006 Act to LLPs. These regulations are due to come into effect October 2008. We will also publish for comment over the summer the draft regulations applying the remaining provisions of the 2006 Act. These regulations are due to come into effect October 2009.
