Information about the numbers and types of injuries caused by fireworks during the Bonfire Night 'firework season' has been collected from hospital Accident and Emergency Units in England, Scotland and Wales since the late 1960s.
2005 Statistics
The injury statistics were collected over a four-week period, between 11 October and 8 November 2005, when fireworks are most widely used by the general public in the UK.
The 2005 study was conducted by the UK division of IMS Health, an international company specialising in market research and business analysis in the healthcare/medical sector.
