Background
£100m boost for great British ideas
On the 25th April 2005 Lord Sainsbury, Science and Innovation Minister announced the next round of the Technology Programme. Lord Sainsbury urged UK firms and research communities to get ready to apply for the latest competition of funding from the DTI's £320 million Technology Programme, which enables business-led ideas off the drawing board and into the market place. Key stakeholders such as other government departments (DEFRA), research councils and the regions made contributions towards the total funding available in this competition.
