Kairos in Soho (KiS) is a community organisation and registered charity based in Soho that supports the health and well being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. 
KiS will disseminate existing materials on the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation and Religion or Belief) Regulations and provide signposting to sources of more in-depth information. KiS will be working in partnership with the local community involving voluntary and community groups, statutory services, the police, faith communities and the commercial sector.

London Voluntary Service Council offers expert support and advice on all employment issues including those related to equality, to voluntary sector employers in London. They will be disseminating awareness raising information on the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation and Religion or Belief) Regulations to 4000 organisations, through their email network of members and their Action Link website.

Muslim Council of Britain will be raising awareness and understanding within the Muslim Community, with employers and advisory organisations about the provisions of the Employment Equality (Religion of Belief) Regulations. This is being done through a variety of means including: briefing of Imams to help spread the message to the Muslim Community through mosques –and during key religious festivals such as Ramadan; good practice guidance for mainstream agencies and large employers on Muslim issues and cultural awareness; enhancement of the MCB website to include employment FAQs; working with advisory organisations so they have a better understanding of the employment equality regulations and the Muslim faith.

National Association of Councils for Voluntary Service (NACVS)

The National Association of Councils for Voluntary Service is the growing network of over 350 local infrastructure organisations (LIOs – often known as Councils for Voluntary Service or CVS) throughout England. NACVS helps to promote voluntary and community action by supporting its member organisations, by acting as a national voice for the local voluntary and community sector and, by drawing on the experience of LIOs, contributing to the development of national policy.  NACVS is working on an awareness raising tool which will provide guidance/case studies in improving CVS and other 2nd tier support organisation’s practice in diversity issues, including those relating to the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation and Religion or Belief) Regulations.

National Councils for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)
Is awareness raising in the voluntary and community sector for both sets of Regulations.  It is producing awareness raising materials, signposting to other sources of information such as Acas and disseminating information at events focusing on equality, as part of good employment practice.

Oldham Racial Equality Council will be using their links into their local community to provide advice and information on the new Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations. DTI funding will support production of information materials along with road shows and outreach events to educate and inform individuals and employees of their rights and responsibilities under the Regulations.

Paddington Development Trust will be using links to their local community to produce and disseminate awareness raising materials on the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation and Religion or Belief) Regulations in Arabic. The Paddington Development trust works with Muslims, Arabic Speakers and Refugees in their local area, groups that are often hard to reach when raising awareness of new legislation. The Trust will disseminate existing materials on the Regulations and provide signposting to sources of more in-depth information.

Racial Equality Councils' project managed by British Federation of Racial Equality Councils (BFoREC) Project members are producing awareness raising materials, that will be disseminated at a series of regional events for REC staff and key stakeholders.  The events are intended to develop the REC movement's awareness of the Employment Equality Regulations, their impact in the workplace on employees and employers and how their advisors might deal with these issues when the arise.  A website will also be created by the project to share examples of good practice with the site's visitors.

Reading Voluntary Action is being funded by DTI to raise awareness of the Employment Equality Regulations through a major Diversity Conference in Reading taking place next March.  The project will play a role in embedding the legislation through engaging the local strategic partnership.
