The Code of Practice on Industrial Action Ballots and Notices, and sections 22 and 25 of the Employment Relations Act 2004, which concern industrial action notices, commenced on 1 October 2005. This is following the approval by Parliament of the draft Code of Practice on Industrial Action Ballots and Notices.
The Code of Practice on Industrial Action Ballots and Notices came into affect on 1 October 2005:
Code of Practice: Industrial action ballots and notice to employersThe new rights protecting employees against unfair dismissal for taking lawfully organised industrial action came into force on 24 April 2000. These rights have been enhanced by the Employment Relations Act 2004. The new provisions came into force on 6 April 2005.
