Gas Consumption Data at Regional and Local Authority Level

BERR has collected and compiled estimates of gas consumption at regional (NUTS1) and local authority levels (NUTS4) using base data at meter point level from the re-structured gas distribution network.

In March 2008 this gas consumption dataset gained National Statistics status. This status applies to all data from 2005 onwards. Please note that the 2004 data are still classed as experimental.

Gas consumption statistics for 2004 (experimental), 2005 and 2006 are available below.

Please note that the 2004, 2005 and 2006 gas consumption data were updated on 28 February 2008. The revisions affect Argyll and Bute and Highland in all three datasets. The unallocated consumption has also been revised in the 2006 dataset

The older series of regional (NUTS1) and local authority (NUTS4) level gas consumption estimates based on the National Grid's post code sales data from 2001 and 2004 (all experimental) are also available below:
