UK Military List

The Military List incorporates UK strategic export control legislation on military items and covers military, security and para-military goods, software and technology and arms, ammunition and related materiel.

Current List

The current list came into force on 3 June 2008.

NOTE: This is a large file so if you are unsure about whether the item you want to export is controlled, and you are using Microsoft, download the file and do a search using the Control/F keys for the item concerned.

The Consolidated List

The UK Military List forms a part of the UK Strategic Export Control Lists which incorporate the Military List along with other controls on Dual-Use goods, torture goods and radioactive sources. You should check this list if your goods are likely to be listed in this document.

How is the List organised?

The Military List comprises a range of categories or entries which are commonly known as 'ratings'. These range from category ML1 to category ML22 and UK national controls classified under the codes 'PL'.

Origin and Updates

The list is regularly updated, as a result of agreement among international regimes.

Keep updated with any changes by viewing the Notices to Exporters.
