BIS Outreach Programme
A new initiative whereby BIS staff undertake short placements in your organisation.
Overview of BIS Outreach
BIS Outreach aims to increase understanding and strengthen relationships between the department and its stakeholders.

Why?
BIS is the UK government department with responsibility for driving balanced and sustainable growth. In delivering this growth we want to ensure that we build relationships and enhance our understanding of our key stakeholders - organisations and businesses which our policies interest or affect - and their issues. Martin Donnelly, Permanent Secretary of BIS, has built close ties with industry to understand better the challenges facing organisations. He proposed the programme and is its leading advocate.
Who might be visiting your organisation?
BIS staff at all levels, including admin staff, junior & middle managers, team leaders, directors and director generals.
What might your organisation get out of it?
- An external perspective on your organisation.
- An improved understanding into how government operates.
- Insight into how the BIS member of staff undertakes their role – whether that be administrative, corporate services, policy development or delivery.
