Staff and Partners Export Control Awareness School


Training offerings provided for other government departments and staff from the Export Control Organisation.

A vital part of the Academy is the training that we provide to staff and partners who form part of the Export Control Licensing Community across the UK civil service.

Training for staff and partners

If you are a member of staff working in an export licensing role then you should be interested in the Staff and Partners Export Control Awareness School. This is aimed at staff from either the Department for Business (BIS), Foreign Office (FCO), Ministry of Defence (MOD), GCHQ, Department for International Development (DFID), Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) or other related departments and teams such as UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

As part of this activity we provide:

  • Induction courses
  • Training modules on specific aspects of export control to provide a more in-depth knowledge

The Civil Pages website

Staff and Partners can sign up to access the Export Control Community pages on the government's Civil Pages website.

Civil Pages is a government wide information sharing website which provides a collaborative workspace. These pages are password protected and only accessible on request. 

Requesting a password for Civil Pages

You can self-register (or request a change of password) to use the Civil Pages website.

Requesting access to the Export Control Community

Once you have a password to the Civil Pages site, you can request access to the Export Control pages. This is only open to staff members on request of the Export Control Community (in the government departments above). To request access, you can email the ECO Business Awareness Team on web.comments@bis.gsi.gov.uk

You will be issued with an email invitation indicating you have access to the Export Control Community.
