Market access

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) can help British businesses overcome problems they face when doing business abroad.

Sometimes things don’t run smoothly and British companies are unable to operate in another country outside the UK. This can be caused by lack of information or confusion about the application of EU Rules by public authorities. Problems may also be caused by the introduction of an unfair duty increase or import levy.

When this is the case and British business interests are affected, BIS will try to help.

These pages set out the range of services available to British businesses from BIS working alongside UK Trade & Investment and British embassies overseas.

The publication, "How to tackle regulatory barriers when doing business abroad", gives advice to business on how BIS can smooth the way for British businesses when they work overseas. You can view it by using the link to the right of this page.
