The then DTI and Office for National Statistics have published their final report into the early estimates of construction output for GDP in 2003.
The report, available on the right, built on an interim report published on 12 February. It explored why there were revisions to the estimates of construction sector output growth between Quarter 1 and Quarter 2, 2003 and what they were, and looked into the scope for improving these early estimates.
The findings of the review were incorporated into the Output and Employment in the Construction Industry Statistical Press Release, published on 3 December 2004 by DTI and in the Quarterly National Accounts First Release published by ONS on 23 December 2004.

The briefing note that accompanied the UK Output, Income and Expenditure First Release on 26 November 2003 explained that BERR and the ONS set up a project in response to concern over the size of recent revisions to estimates of quarter on quarter change in construction output.
