On November 22 2007, John Hutton, Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, announced a review of the Government’s Manufacturing Strategy to ensure that the Strategy continues to meet the needs of the sector. The Strategy will focus in particular on how the Government can help British industry take advantage of the opportunities presented by tackling climate change while ensuring that the UK is at the forefront of developing and manufacturing new technologies.
The Review will ensure that the Strategy continues to address the changing needs of the sector and set out a clear set of priorities that will maximise the contribution of manufacturing to the UK economy.
