Materials

The Materials Innovation and Growth Team ran from January 2005 to March 2006.  The Final Report of March 2006 together with associated materials can be found at Materials IGT  .

Materials UK 

One of the key recommendations of the Materials IGT was the establishment of a new industry-led body to take forward the strategy set out in the IGT Final Report.  Materials UK was set up in October 2006 and is led by Honorary President, Lord Haskel, Chairman, Wyn Jones and CEO, David Bott.  Its aim is to ensure 'That the UK will continue to be one of the foremost advanced technological societies in which world-class materials expertise underpins sustainable growth'. Materials Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN)

The Materials KTN is an overarching network of networks in materials formed to enable the exchange of knowledge and the stimulation of innovation across the whole of the materials community.  The KTN is independently funded by BERR, but it is strategically linked to Materials UK and shares a common Chairman in Wyn Jones of Alcan UK.
