Street Trading
Consultation
The street trading and pedlary consultation is now open. The closing date has been extended so the deadline for responses is now 12 February 2010.
You can access the consultation material by clicking the following link (street trading and pedlary consultation) and hard copies of the material can be obtained by telephoning staff at the Order Line, on 0845 015 0010 and requesting a copy of the material, whose Unique Reference Number is 09/1074.
Street trading Regulations
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) is presently responsible for policy concerning the street trading provisions within the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.
Senior BIS officials also hear appeals on street trading matters on behalf of the Secretary of State under the London Local Authorities Acts and the City of Westminster Act 1999.
The Pedlars Acts of 1871 and 1881 fall within the Department’s responsibilities too.
