Energy Markets Outlook: Gas

The gas chapter of the Energy Markets Outlook report shows that the supply capacity excess for the foreseeable future is likely to be much greater than in recent years. Diversity of supply sources and routes allows for considerable flexibility to respond to constraints affecting one or more supply source or route and still meet demand. We also examine the kinds of circumstances or combinations of circumstance which might leave the UK at serious risk of being unable to meet unconstrained demand.

In compiling this report we have drawn heavily on data and supporting analysis developed by National Grid in support of their annual TBE (“Transporting Britain’s Energy”) exercise.
