  • Nuclear Non-Proliferation Policy Unit
    • Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons
  • IAEA
  • UK Nuclear Safeguards
    • Non Proliferation - Nuclear Materials Balance
  • Nuclear Suppliers Group
  • The Zangger Committee

More detailed information may be found for each of these areas in the sub-menu located beneath this menu item to the left of this text.

The Export Control Organisation (ECO) is responsible for issuing and assessing export control licences for the trade, export or transhipment of strategic goods from the UK. This includes both military and so-called dual-use goods that encompass nuclear goods and chemical and biological weapons. The imposition of export controls originates from the work of international regimes, treaties and conventions. The related Links section to the right of this text provides further information from the ECO website.
