Electricity Consumption Data at Regional and Local Authority Level
Details about how the information on electricity consumption has been collected and collated can be found in the articles in the June and December 2005, December 2006 and December 2007 editions of Energy Trends.
In March 2008 the electricity consumption dataset gained National Statistics status. This status applies to all data from 2005 onwards.
Electricity consumption statistics for 2003, 2004 (both experimental series), 2005 and 2006 at regional and local levels is available below.
Please note that the 2005 and 2006 datasets were updated on 28 February 2008.
The 2005 dataset was updated following improvements in data quality. These changes affect all local authorities. This dataset is now consistent with the 2005 MLSOA data available on the MLSOA Electricity and Gas: 2005 webpage.
In the 2006 dataset consumption in Argyll and Bute and North Ayrshire is affected. This also affected the total consumption figures for Scotland and Great Britain.
