There are three main strands to the work of the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) on trade which are covered within the Department by the Europe, International Trade and Development Directorate (EITD), UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), and Export Control Organisation (ECO).
Work of EITD:

Work of ECO:
The aim of UK export control is to promote global security by facilitating responsible exports, Certain strategic goods and technology, such as military items and dual-use goods, may not be exported from the UK without a licence.
