Construction Statistics and Economics

BERR's Construction Statistics and Economics Unit has responsibility for the collection, analysis and publication of statistics for the construction sector. The Division provides regular statistical analysis of building materials; overseas trade, overseas construction by British firms, price and cost indices and key performance indicators of construction activity. As well as statistical advice, the Division provides economic analysis and advice to assist in the assessment of the construction market and in the formulation of efficient policies.

Construction Statistics Annual

The unit also contributes to the Construction Statistics Annual, produced by the Office of National Statistics. This publication gives a broad perspective of statistical trends in the construction industry in Great Britain through the last decade together with some international comparisons and features on leading initiatives that may influence the future.
